The United Nations established October 11 as International Day of the Girl to raise awareness about the challenges facing girls and women worldwide. It’s a day to come together to highlight, discuss, and take action in an effort to advance rights and opportunities for girls everywhere. This year, under the theme, “Mi Voz, our equal future” and the momentum of the “100 Year of Women Voting SA” campaign, we’ll seize the opportunity to raise awareness about the disparities girls face in our community and will continue to face if we don’t rally behind them and re-imagine a better world for their futures.
